  2. Warriors vs Victorian Bushrange on13 August
  3. Warriors vs Central Districts Stags on 18 August
  4. Warriors vs Chennai Super Kings on 22 August

With a squad that consisted of Jacques Kallis, Mark Boucher, Makhaya Ntini, Ashwell Prince, Johan Botha and Nicky Boje, it wasn't really a surprise that the Warriors strung together a consistent performance in the Standard Bank Pro20 tournament. They only lost one out of their eight matches in the competition and went on to clinch the title. It's by virtue of winning the Standard Bank Pro20 that the Warriors enter the 2010 edition of Airtel Champions League Twenty20. With their international players not always available, it was left to the likes of Colin Ingram and Davey Jacobs to shoulder the run-scoring responsibility, and they did that in style; Ingram aggregated 283 runs while Jacobs scored 162 runs in eight matches. On the bowling front, the Warriors have a very mean attack - Ntini, Botha and Boje have all successfully proven their skills at the international level. They also have Juan Theron, a bowler who relishes bowling at the death and is capable of guiding his team to nail-biting victories. The Warriors have all the ingredients - players with skill, class, experience, temperament and ability to perform on the big stage. This September, the home boys will be looking to make a big impact.

The Chevrolet Warriors is the name used by the combined Eastern Province and Border first class cricket teams in South Africa. The home venues of the Warriors are St George's Park, Port Elizabeth and Buffalo Park, East London.
The combined team plays in the SuperSport Series first-class competition and also in the MTN Domestic Championship and the Standard Bank Twenty20 limited over competitions. The Chevrolet Warriors are the 2009/2010 MTN Domestic Championship and Standard Bank Twenty20 winners.

The Airtel Champions League Twenty20 kicks off in South Africa, the excitement is heating up among fans.
Fans in Port Elizabeth in particular are looking forward to the start of the tournament as the Warriors will play all their round-robin matches at their home ground at St. George's Park. The Warriors will take on Sri Lanka's Wayamba Elevens in their first match on Saturday 11 September 2010 at 13:30.
The Sri Lankan team - winners of Sri Lanka's Interprovincial T20 - participated in the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 tournament last year but failed to win any of their matches. In the past season's Interprovincial T20, however, the team performed consistently well by winning each of their five league matches and driving home two convincing victories in the semi-finals and the finals. Their Interprovincial T20 tournament win was their third concessive victory in the tournament.
The Warriors will have their sights set on putting in a solid performance during the upcoming tournament and will be entering the tournament with a strong squad of players. The Eastern Cape franchise team had an excellent season with wins in the MTN40 and Standard Bank Pro20 domestic tournaments while some players even caught the eye of national selectors.
With a good mix of bowling and batting skills and refined fielding, the Warriors will be hoping to get their Airtel Champions League Twenty20 campaign off to a winning start this Saturday. The Wayamba Elevens however are likely to provide stiff competition.
Don't miss the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 action at St. George's Park starting on Saturday 11 September 2010!
